Our legal team needs a diligent, organized, and experienced personal injury paralegal. You will write briefs, create legal documents like affidavits, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and organize case files and other important material. To prepare a factual response to discovery, we need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records. Responsibilities
- Treatment status updates, follow-up with clients on treatment
- Resolve disputes without going to court by providing legal representation at family settlement meetings and mediation
- Aid lawyers in preparing for trial by arranging exhibits, witnesses, legal materials, client meetings, and motions
- Maintain our case filing systems and other administrative activities
- Help attorneys create legal pleadings, paperwork, and correspondence, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notifications, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
- Discuss potential lien, bill, and medical expense settlements with service providers or insurers
Qualifications
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
- Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
- Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) is highly preferred
- At least 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting, preferably specializing in personal injury law
Compensation
$23 - $25/ hour Depending on Experience
