Are you familiar with the difference between uninsured motorist coverage and health insurance? There is still a general misconception of what people believe is full coverage on their vehicle insurance policy. Some believe that if they have health insurance that they do not need to carry uninsured motorist coverage. However, most health insurance policies do not cover anything more than your medical bills and you could be left with co-pays and other outstanding bills. Your own health insurance will not pay for damage to your vehicle, lost wages, pain and suffering from a bodily injury, disability, disfigurement/scarring or future earnings in the event that you are hit by someone who carries little or no insurance. Bottom Line, without uninsured motorist coverage- you are not fully covered.
